Fast Humor

So I'm not sure about you guys, but I've always been a fan of when fast food chains decide to be humorous. I don't want them to be inspirational, like say:

No, screw that. I go there to get a burger, not to fly a kite with my multicultural team of imagined inspiration and togetherness. That's why I like Burger King's old "Have it your way" campaign, where they just put a bunch of random stuff on all of their containers. Remember that? Well to my delight, I was at taco bell a while back, and I got this one jumbo XXL something something box deal. And after consuming most of my meal, I was examining the box and found this little gem on the bottom:

Engrish with Class!

So recently I was re-watching something that my Japanese teacher in high school showed to the 2nd year students, a drama called "Okane ga Nai" (I have no money). I was mainly doing it for a nostalgia trip and bad English at times, but in one of the later episodes I spotted this:

I couldn't help but laugh at the obviously bad camera angle and Engrish message. Seriously, who spellchecked and did the formatting? You'd think all of that text would be centered or something. In any case, the next time I need to enter my assword, I don't want to get dened.

Minecraft

So one of the things that has been sucking up a lot of my time lately is a little game called Minecraft. Right now it's still in alpha, but it's still pretty fun to play. The free version has an early build of single and multiplayer, where the object at the moment is pretty much just to build awesome shit. If you guys liked legos as a kid, you'd probably find this to be appealing.

Check it out. It's going to be released into Beta soon, so it is going to be more feature rich soon enough.

Can I get that in Chinese?

So this week and next week, I am on phones duty at work, as well as performing odd jobs and moving furniture in and out of rooms and other things that the higher-ups don't want to do and delegated to us, as per usual.

Anyway, the phones area is in the helpdesk, where I normally work. But I wasn't doing helpdesk duties; instead, I overheard a wonderful customer come in.

"Can I get windows?" Simple enough. "Can I get it in Chinese?" Sure, we have a Chinese ISO for Windows 7. Yet, when the techs out there were trying to explain it to him, it was as if he didn't fully get what they were getting at.... every minute he would ask "Can I get it in Chinese? Will my keyboard work with that?" And other such things.

For an hour.

My coworker and I started off laughing at it, but about 20 minutes in we started feeling pity for the techs out front. They then proceeded to try to hide back where we were sitting, as it was a truly nerve-wracking experience. I feel their pain. It's almost like that time where I had the Indian lady having trouble installing the (obviously illegitimate) Office 2005 disk that was, as she said, "From my home country." It was actually office 2000, with a crack and the original torrent info. Trying to explain something like this to a customer can be... excruciatingly painful. After about the 50th "Can I get it in Chinese?" question, I think a little part of my coworkers died inside.

This one is destined to live up to "You Need to Eat," "adsjfhpiouczvn;alerth," and, "But will it run Crysis?"

It's interesting which movies exist in what universes. And how much our universe carries over to theirs. Clearly, Deadpool's opinions match those of the common man.

Apparently Bear isn't driving at the moment

So I guess Cleverbot isn't actually a bot, but is a bear who was driving. I feel duped, just like in the Wizard of Oz, or Scooby Doo, or an M. Night Shamalan Film.

Remember that one time where we pissed off Evan by editing this one comment to have bad grammar like one of the posts earlier that day? And he took away our editing rights? Something about more better or something. Whatever. In any case, this commercial that I just saw reminds me of that:

Good times... Good times. If we had the power to edit each other's posts again I'd say edit the hell out of this one. Whaddya say Evan? (Maybe my feeble attempt to restore editing powers will work).

So this is what today's commercial experts are coming up with? First of all, the product itself is half of a pvp pipe with velcro and you're paying $20 for it (it's ok though, because you can get a second pair for $10!). Second, what are "pro and semi-pro funsliders". I'm pretty sure it's a made up sport. And third, where did they find the wacked out 10-yr-old at 36 seconds?

Do we really need to eat that much anymore?

It's obvious that we don't say "You need to eat" enough on this blog, since the dominating word on this word art thinger is "Pdrepper." >_> (Click on it by the way to find a larger version)

It was created by something that takes a lot of words from the front page of a site and in the comments and makes the most frequently used words really big. Prdrepper being the biggest. Only reaffirming Evan's belief that Pdrepper is really spelled like that on the can.
