Best of Both Worlds

We like YNTE meme, and we like our new adsjfhpiouczvn;alerth meme, and we like comic books. So, it's only obvious that I blend all three of these together. Our two favorite memes in comic book style! Hell, there are even children in here. The only thing it's lacking is a boy with long hairs and/or a bear.

Not to mention that the children in this photo are creepy.

Also, on another topic:

Matt: I'll bet you ten of Tom's Dollars that he didn't post last month
Evan: he sure didn't
Evan: the real question is if he will post at all this year
Matt: I think we should just keep giving him crap until he does
Evan: that's the plan
Evan: if money doesn't motivate him to post, maybe shame will

Deadpool is Sensible

It's interesting which movies exist in what universes. And how much our universe carries over to theirs. Clearly, Deadpool's opinions match those of the common man.

This Week In Comics: Gambit + Rogue = AWESOME

These past two weeks have been a bit uneventful, aside from one book, and that book is X-Men.

Gambit has always been my favorite member of the X-Men, and while I was excited 4 issues ago when he came back, now that he and Rogue are having face time again (kind of, she's semi-catatonic), I'm hella stoked. Not to mention that the issue was pretty cool otherwise. The stage is now set for Messiah Complex, the X-Men crossover event that begins soon. (next week?). Also, the book got a new, better artist. This issue is gold.

Speaking of crossovers, Spidey's 'One More Day' was delayed an entire month. WTF.

This Week In Comics: Now I'm Broke.

You know how last week I was complaining about how Marvel didn't release a single comic book I read? Well, this past week they made up for it in a big, bad, and expensive way. I think I ended up buying 8 different books. It was kind of an overload.

New Avengers was kind of interesting, though it did not, in fact, feature a single panel with any one of the New Avengers in it.

Punisher War Journal joined the list of comic books really didn't need to be World War Hulk crossovers. The end of last issue left me hopeful that Punisher would once again face Jigsaw and instead he's rescuing cats. On a side note, Jigsaw did appear in the Avengerless New Avengers.

The new issue of Spider-Man's "One More Day" arc came out. It suggests that Time Travel will retcon the past. Really? Is that the best idea you guys could come up with? Time Travel?

The big winner this week was New Avengers/Transformers, potentially the most unlikely crossover ever. Issue 4 brought the conclusion of the series, and while it was rediculous and kind of bad, it was a fun read. It was, during its short run, the Snakes on a Plane of comics (except i think there was a SoaP comic book).

But all in all, a lot to read, and that means I had to go the week without food. YAY!

This Week in Comics - Iron and the Maiden

This week, Marvel and DC both refused to release any of the comic books I regularly read. Luckily, one of my favorite indie comics came out to fill the void in my heart: Iron and the Maiden.

If you're not reading this comic yet, now is the time to get on board. Both the writing and the art are top notch, and it is entertaining to no end. Not only is it probably my favorite comic book out right now, but it is possibly the most entertaining thing to come out this year on any medium (though I haven't yet played Halo 3).

The only way this series could get better is if somebody says the phrase "You need to eat."

But seriously, I don't care if you regularly read comics or not, you'll probably enjoy this.

This Week In Comics (was uneventful)

Not a whole lot new came out. There was a new World War Hulk, which is entertaining to read, but pretty predictable. Everyone knew Sentry was gonna come into play for issue 5, so there were no real surprises. Just what this series is good at: lots of random fighting and random sound effects. There was a "SCHLOOOORF" this issue, but that's nothing compared to "Krakka Bathroom!" from issue one.
If you want me to keep buying WWH, at least throw in a "That's what she said joke". Oh wait. You already did.

Editor's Note: Yes, I know, comics come out on Wednesday, and today is a Tuesday, which makes me almost a week behind. I know.

My hellza exciting weekend

I basically sat around playing video games (oblivion, gun, teh haloz), watching tv (lost, bones, prison break) and reading old comic books, mainly x-men. I started reading the dark pheonix saga. It's a classic. I also plopped down 6 bucks for a copy of X-Men (vol2) Issue 1. Now I just need issues 2-199, and I'll be up to date!

More comic book-y goodness

This one I decided was best to just leave as is.

Hulk smash puny food!

You may need to click this one to fullsize it to get the full experience.

And I only changed one panel. The rest is REAL.
