February Roundup

I made graphs again!

So, as you can see, this year is going awesome!

This month, most of my posts were frontloaded on the early half the month, which is fine, because Matt forgot to post until the end. Our collective laziness cancelled out!

Here're the official standings:
Matt: 5 posts, 0 penalty, max take: 50 dollars
Tom: 0 posts, 10 dollars penalty, max take: 30 dollars
Evan: 14 posts, I don't earn money, but the resolution is alive!
Steve!: 1 post, bragging rights over Tom

Tom is losing. Not only is he losing money, but he's losing to Steve, who isn't even a participant. If this were a race, what happened is Tom broke his ankle off the blocks and is laying on the track writhing in pain. Then a crazy fan jumped out of the stands and started running down the tracks. Who will win the race? The injured athlete or the non athlete?

I was excited about the YNTE Movie Night, going into this month. Then there were (hold on, let me count them) zero other participants. Maybe it was a slow month, maybe it was a bad idea. We'll see. I still have hopes for this month. Announcement coming soon!

Here's to March!

Take this chief.

Yeah, that's right. I'm going to actually contribute something, Evan.
I stood by while you silently insulted me by not including me in the competition, but no more!
I mean, unconscious? That just hurts.

So for you, Evan, I have gotten something the blog has been lacking for quite a long time....

A BEAR DRIVING!!!!

And not just any old car driving bear! One with swords for teeth and driving a dumptruck of all things!
If this isn't a safety hazard on a construction site I'm not sure what it is. But all credit is due to the creator of The Oatmeal, because nothing is cooler than this.

See what you're missing from Jimmy and the Hammer? Driving bears. Now that I've taught you in comics I think I'm good.

See Evan, a post with words and everything. Now change my damn title. Who's the master sergeant now?

Movie piracy makes kittens cry...

...but it makes studio executives tons of money.

According to the article Most Pirated Movie of 2009 ... Makes Heaps of Money, Star Trek, despite being pirated more than any other movie this year, is poised to make well upwards of 100 Million Dollars.

Couple that with the fact that twice as many movies were made in 2009 than 5 years prior (and if you factor in independent releases, even more), and the movie industry making record profits in a terrible recession and it suddenly becomes rather baffling what impact piracy is having at all.

It's a pretty interesting read. Also, I have never actually seen a kitten cry over movie piracy. They mainly cry when Metallica music gets downloaded.

Conclusive Proof

Steve was trying to say that now that volleyball is over he is no longer a pirate. So I asked an expert:

Evan wins.

The Dr Delivers

As I have made a total of 1 posts on this thing, and that post was edited to say absolutely nothing I originally said, I'd like to take this time (of which I am slowly re-installing WoW) to rub my free Pdrepper receipt in Evan's face.

That right there is thanks to countless minutes (actually about 40.. which is as much as four tens.. and that's terrible) of trying to re-submit my information for a $1.50 free Pdrepper. Guess who didn't get this amazing piece of paper? Done guessing? Too bad! EVAN or STEVE!

Also, as I do not have photoshop to simply blur my address, I used my amazing PAINT skills to seemlessly cover it up

Also also, to help out the blog's wordle crisis:

Not Last!

The ITC Purple Cobras* have risen to the ranks of volleyball medicrity. That's right, tonight we won 2/4 games bringing our overall match record to 2 and 6. Also, according to Umi, our record is now better than the Seahawks' record this past season, which was 4 and 12. So to all of you out there who think you know math and think that they're identically bad, well, you're right and Umi's an idiot, but we still rule.

But most importantly, I scored a couple points, including some awesome spikes! And Steve (aka Steve the Pirate) didn't spike any teachers in the face, and I didn't cheer afterward.

*Not our official name, but we don't really have one.
